Ethics: Society of Financial Services Professionals Code of Professional Responsibility (Part 2 of 3)

The ultimate goal of Ethical behavior is to serve the public interest. The path to fulfilling this goal is the fostering of professionalism in financial services. A professional has been defined in the writings of Solomon S. Huebner as possessing four essential traits: • knowledge or expertise • service to others • working with other professionals to enhance the practice and reputation of one who is a member • self-regulation Each session (June, September and October) will cover various aspects of Ethical behavior. Each hour session will include presentation and discussion on practical applications. This is the second of 3 sessions providing guidance and practical application of Ethical Standards. At our September meeting, we will be focusing on Confidentiality, Integrity and Diligence. Each hour session will include presentation and discussion on practical applications. Come prepared to be engaged and encouraged.
