Retrain the Brain

The human brain is hardwired to be emotional first, logical second. So, we feel before we think, and our emotional brain is frequently wrong. Subconscious biases control behavior and affect decisions and can have negative effects with investing. How do you coach your clients through situations that so often lead to irrational decision-making? By incorporating behavioral finance tools into your practice, you can spark a positive change, drive thoughtful investing, and enhance advisor-client relationships and results.

Longevity and the Retirement Marketplace

Dr. Katrina Turner, a physician working in insurance, looks at the factors that contribute to the long lives of retirees. Her insights are data driven but interpreted in the very practical ways that your clients can apply to their lives. She will start with a definition of longevity that draws from assessments that a doctor would make when delving into the mysterious question of how long a person will live. Next, she will apply that assessment to Social Security claiming strategies, leaving you with some factors that your clients should consider when making that important decision about when to start taking Social Security. In addition, she will look at the circumstances of older seniors and suggest ways that those that love them can support them in their healthy twilight years. Finally, she will make her insights very practical by sharing her own experience loving and supporting a group of seniors ages 50 to 100.
