Family Relations, Probate and Taxes

In this jam packed 3-hour CE meeting, we will be educated, enlightened and entertained by 2 of our own members.

Attorney and former Probate Court Judge, George A. Baker, Esq. will reveal the latest information on opportunities and pitfalls related to recent changes in Medicaid in CT including rules for Real Estate and how to protect the home. He will discuss the myths and realities regarding how and when to use trusts (both revocable and irrevocable). Attorney Baker will also share some of his best war stories from the years he served as probate judge in Tolland or as he says, “What happens when you do it wrong!”

Brenden Healy, CPA, and Partner in Whittlesey is taking time off from a very busy tax season to bring us up to date with the latest changes in tax law. Some will surprise you, others may challenge you, but all will inform you. Brenden will also share what is on the horizon that may affect our planning for clients financial future.

Join with fellow financial services professionals for Food, Fun, Fellowship and Education all wrapped up in this morning meeting!
